Alfredo Gil has been hired as vice president, senior relationship manager at BankUnited in Miami Lakes. He most recently was vice president and senior relationship manager at Bank of America in Miami.

Edgardo Gonzalez has been named managing director and senior portfolio manager in the Coral Gables office of Fiduciary Trust Company International. He was previously a portfolio manager in the global wealth and investment management division of U.S. Trust in Fort Lauderdale. Gonzalez has a bachelor’s of business administration from Loyola University in New Orleans.

Jeffrey S. Sturman has joined Memorial Healthcare System as a senior vice president and chief information officer. Most recently, he was a partner at Cumberland Consulting Group, based in Franklin, Tenn., which is a healthcare IT firm. Sturman is a graduate of Indiana University and has a master’s in healthcare administration/health services management from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Richard Weiss has been named president of the Florida market of Aetna, based in Sunrise. He was previously executive director for Aetna’s Florida market. Weiss, a CPA, has a bachelor’s in accounting from Florida State University.
Hospitality
Josh Gripper was promoted to executive chef of the W South Beach Hotel & Residences. He was previously at The Dutch in Miami Beach. In his new position, he’ll manage culinary operations including the execution of menus and catering for banquet functions, in-room dining and the resort’s venues including The Dutch. Gripper is a graduate of the Art Institute of New York City (formerly the new York Restaurant School).

Cesar Arguelles has been named executive sales director for Vi at Aventura. He was a branch manager for Grove Bank & Trust. Arguelles has a bachelor’s in industrial engineering from Columbia.

New position: Partner at Colson Hicks Eidson.
From: Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.
Also: He was an associate trial attorney at Colson Hicks Eidson before becoming a federal prosecutor in 2012.
And: At the U.S. Attorney’s office, Maderal spent six years in the major crimes and international narcotics and money-laundering sections leading complex investigations and prosecutions against individuals and corporations for corruption, fraud, money laundering, foreign bribery, computer fraud, and Bank Secrecy Act violations. He was lead prosecutor in some of Miami’s largest money-laundering cases, including a multibillion dollar money-laundering case tied to illegally mined and smuggled gold from South America that was being exported to Miami; and a landmark $1 billion money-laundering case involving stolen Venezuelan oil funds tied to South Florida real estate.
Education: Maderal has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
