It was the concert that brought everyone together.
Whether that be ex-husband-and-wife Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, or rival television broadcasters Univision and Telemundo.
A mega benefit concert dubbed “One Voice: Somos Live! A Concert For Disaster Relief,” took place Saturday night in Miami and Los Angeles. The telethon and concert was held to raise funds for disaster relief in Puerto Rico, as well as the southern United States, Mexico, and other areas of the Caribbean impacted by recent natural disasters.
According to Forbes, it was the first time in Spanish-language television history that Telemundo joined forces with rival Univision. Both companies broadcasted the event simultaneously.
Marc Anthony performed live from Miami’s Marlins Park stadium, along with other artists like Daddy Yankee, Alejandro Sanz, Romeo Santos, Prince Royce, Nicky Jam and DJ Khaled, who brought out special guests Fat Joe, French Montana, T.I., and Busta Rhymes. Bruno Mars also performed his 2010 hit “Just The Way You Are,” in Spanish.
Jennifer Lopez performed live from an NBC soundstage alongside her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez.
Other celebrities scheduled to make an appearance included Camila Cabello, Gente De Zona, Demi Lovato, Maroon 5, Gwen Stefani, Stevie Wonder, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, Ellen DeGeneres, Christina Aguilera, The Chainsmokers, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Vin Diesel, Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Nicole Richie, Sofia Vergara, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Ciara.
The funds raised during the telethon will go to Feeding America, Save the Children, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, UNICEF, and Unidos for Puerto Rico. For more information on how to donate, click here.
