Evelyn Lozada is still suffering from the trauma of her divorce from Chad Ochocinco.
The “Livin Lozada” star tearfully told followers that a tweet her ex posted on Wednesday triggered her.
Ochocinco was responding to a follower who asked how he stayed so optimistic.
“What’s the secret? How do you stay so positive? Was it therapy? Not being funny...really asking for myself,” wrote the fan.
The former NFL star responded, “I lost my temper for once in life for three seconds & it cost me a lifetime’s worth of work. I got it all back plus some after getting a second chance & NOTHING will ever get me out of that happy space again.”
The South Florida resident was, of course, referring to his infamous arrest for domestic battery back in Davie in August 2012. During an argument outside their home, Ochocinco headbutted his wife, leaving her with a terrible gash. He was subsequently cut from the Miami Dolphins, Lozada filed for divorce, and their reality show, “Ev and Ocho,” was scrapped. The two were only married 41 days.
Lozada, who now lives in Los Angeles, is clearly not over the situation.
Shooting with her cellphone in her car, Lozada said she is still hurting eight years later and doesn’t think Ochocinco feels accountable for his actions.
“For this man to sit up there and say that he lost his temper for three seconds is infuriating to me,” said the onetime “Basketball Wives” cast member. “It’s messages like this, tweets or whatever the hell it was, that are triggers for me.”
Lozada went on to say that his alleged abuse involved much more than “three seconds.”
“I’m not going to let anybody take away my f---ing truth and put this perception out there for a pity party as if you made one mistake. I’m trying to move on from this but as a victim how am I supposed to move on?”
