The Dolphins on Friday announced Mike McDaniel’s coaching staff for the 2022 season, which includes Dolphins legends, holdovers and former San Francisco 49ers assistants.

Outside of the previously reported additions, McDaniel retained a pair of coaches in new roles and added more assistants. Lemuel Jeanpierre, who was offensive line coach in 2021, now has the title of assistant offensive line coach. Josh Grizzard, who coached wide receivers, is now a quality control coach.

Mike Person, a nine-year NFL offensive lineman who overlapped with McDaniel in San Francisco, is joining the staff as an offensive assistant. Person played 73 career games and started all playoff games during the 49ers’ run to the Super Bowl in the 2019 season.

Aldrick Robinson, a former wide receiver who overlapped with McDaniel in San Francisco, Washington and Atlanta is joining as an offensive assistant.

Kolby Smith, who spent the past two seasons as a quality control coach, is now an offensive assistant.

Mathieu Araujo, co-defensive coordinator at Yale, joins the staff as assistant defensive backs coach. Araujo, who also coached defensive backs at Yale and was introduced as assistant head coach/defensive coordinator at Maine in January before deciding to leave for Miami.

Steve Ferentz, who spent the 2021 season as a coaching assistant linebackers coach.

Steve Gregory, a former NFL defensive back who was most recently a coaching assistant in Miami, is now safeties coach.

Derrick LeBlanc, who has primarily coached the defensive line in college for the past 21 years, joins as assistant defensive line coach.

Ryan Slowik, who has 12 years of NFL coaching experience, joins as a senior defensive assistant. Slowik most recently coached outside linebackers for the Cleveland Browns during the 2016 season.
